A lost diamond in Oman!

Why Oman can be an ideal tourism destination?

Oman is a country with Political-Economic stability which has posted positive growth in the last few years along with the considerable growth of Dubai and may provide incredible opportunities for business.

Let’s start with a short introduction to Oman.

According to WIKIPEDIA, the Sultanate of Oman is an Arab country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia and Muscat is the capital of the country. The coast is formed by the Arabian Sea on the southeast and with the Gulf of Oman on the northeast. The country shares the land borders with the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west and Yemen to the southwest and shares marine borders with Iran.

A vast gravel desert plain covers most of central Oman, with mountain ranges along the north (Al Hajar Mountains) and southeast coast (Qara or Dhofar mountains), where the country’s main cities are also located, the capital city Muscat, Sohar and Sur in the north, and Salalah in the south.

Oman, with an area of 309,500 square kilometers, is the third largest country in the Arabian Peninsula after Saudi Arabia and Yemen and the population is almost over 2.6 million. Oman’s proved reserves of petroleum total about 5.5 billion barrels, 22nd largest in the world and the 7th country in the Middle East in terms of the number of oil reserves. Oman’s major export commodities include crude oil, re-exports of goods, fish, metals, and textiles, and significant import goods are transportation machinery and equipment, industrial goods for food and industrial oil.

My opinion on Oman

Now let’s take a look at my own view of the country. (It’s obvious that everyone looks at the opportunities from his point of view). As an individual who has been focusing on producing and publishing an app that deals with sports and exciting entertainments, I found Oman a country full of such opportunities, so I am very curious to seek this profitable potential in this country.

In the proposal, I have prepared, at least between 80 to 100 of the items of entertainments can be implemented in Oman, including ultra-exciting sports, skydiving or bungee jumping.

Although the content I prepare is much more than that, the implementation of these 80 cases can turn Oman into an amusement and recreation destination. Access to the ocean, desert, and facility, investment can provide an extra golden opportunity for Oman.

Nowadays, many startups tend to digital businesses, while it is possible to provide an entertaining space for people who are tired of busy and mechanical urban life. Now, suppose you combine digital knowledge, persuasive content, and fun excitement which definitely prepares attractive conditions. If you’ve been following the neuromarketing topics, you know that people are eager to do different and weird things and share them on social media. In fact, extreme sports and entertainments correspond perfectly with this hidden and growing need.

Perhaps many traders and investors in Oman are thinking of investing in massive oil and gas projects, but the entertainment and tourism sector can provide them with a lasting and long-term growth.

When I was reading “My Vision” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s book (the ruler of Dubai), I found his attitude toward the development of Arab societies interesting and contemplative.

He put a lot of emphasis on competition and he says that if you do not want to grow up, you will be a loser and you will soon be replaced by others.

Oman has many opportunities to become one of the tourism hubs in the region and can attract many tourists by producing rich content and informing the audience, especially on online spaces.

God has gifted this country with great seas, sky, and earth which can be so profitable. Not paying attention to these blessings is not only Unthankfulness but also urges other countries that are more ambitious and opportunistic to take this historic position out of Oman and killing this opportunity may cost a lot to Oman.

All in all, I am sure that the nation and the smart investors of Oman seize this golden opportunity.
